This is a great line for us to remember from Scripture. In this case the people were grumbling for meat and God told Moses he would make it happen. Moses answered, "Here I am among six hundred thousand men on foot, and you say, 'I will give them meat to eat for a whole month!' Would they have enough if flocks and herds were slaughtered for them? Would they have enough if all the fish in the sea were caught for them?" (Numbers 11:21-22)
Oh, ye of little faith, Moses! Don't you remember the wonders in Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea, the dependable manna about which these people are complaining?
On a similar occasion during Jesus' time when a crowd of 5,000+ people needs to to eat, the disciples ask Jesus, "How far will [the loaves and fishes] go among so many?" Even after all the amazing things Jesus had taught and shown them? Really?
But unfortunately it's deeply ingrained into our sinful natures. Today it's easy to get caught up in the here and now, to spend time worrying about things that don't matter, distracted from what matters--the good news of God's love that all people need to here!
How comforting to remember that the LORD's arm is never too short. The God who has taken care of our eternity can certainly get us through our day to day challenges.
