Achan's Sin

What irony that Achan is stoned to death with his family for disobeying God's command not to take any of the plunder of Jericho, and then God allows Israel to take some of the plunder of the very next city they attack, Ai. Achan's sin demonstrates the inborn nature of all of us. We tend to trust in ourselves rather than God. If we think we can resolve things by our own power we will try. But God obviously has a plan. We just need to patiently "wait for the Lord" (Psalm 27:14).
