God's Working through Troubles

A couple days ago I posted how the Holy Spirit was compelling Paul to go to Jerusalem, even as he (the Spirit) was speaking through a prophet and other disciples that Paul would face troubles there. Today we see why. What some might see as a worst nightmare (arrest, fear of torture and death), was truly one of Paul's greatest opportunities to shine. He was able to speak of his faith to Jewish leaders and work his way up the Roman hierarchy to the point where he is even scheduled to have a hearing with Caesar himself! My favorite part is Acts 26, especially 24-29, where Paul actually pleads with Herod Agrippa to have faith in Christ. God was certainly working all things for the good of those who love him, as he promises (Romans 8:28)--both for Paul, and for anyone in his audience who put their faith in the saving work of Christ.
