Join the Daily Bible Challenge!

Three easy steps to participate:

1. Purchase The Daily Bible. The best price is online, but it is also available at local Christian bookstores. I recommend hardcover.

2. Read the daily reading.

3. Optional: Return to this site to discuss the readings (consider bookmarking this site so you can easily find it each day).

God Works All Things for Our Good

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him" (Romans 8:28). I think Joseph is one of the best examples in the Bible of this. His account in Genesis starts with him being rejected by his family, sold as a slave, living in a foreign country, and being framed and put in jail. But it ends up with him as one of the top leaders in the world at that time, reunited with his family, and everything set up by God for the fulfillment of his promises.

Being a Christian means to look at things differently. We tend to look at things from an earthly standpoint--wealth, popularity, and pleasure mean things are going well. God is working things for us in a way that really matters--spiritually, whatever path it takes (often the path is necessarily in direct opposition to wealth, popularity, and pleasure). When you remember that, it goes a long way in giving your strength to face life's regular challenges.
