God's Working with Nations
Jeremiah 18:7-10 apparently shows us how God deals with nations as spiritual units, meaning if the vast majority of a nation's people are rejecting God he will reject that nation. In a similar manner a nation can repent and God will relent. The example of Israel shows that if there are a few faithful among the godless of a nation, God will protect his people, however overall the health and prosperity of that nation will falter if the nation is mostly godless. We definitely have seen that play out in the past several weeks of readings, where the Bible describes God's punishing Israel and the surrounding nations. Does God deal with nations the same way today or has something changed with the New Testament era--what do you think?
