Join the Daily Bible Challenge!

Three easy steps to participate:

1. Purchase The Daily Bible. The best price is online, but it is also available at local Christian bookstores. I recommend hardcover.

2. Read the daily reading.

3. Optional: Return to this site to discuss the readings (consider bookmarking this site so you can easily find it each day).

Justice from God

It's an interesting thought in Proverbs 28:5 and 29:26 that people don't quite get justice right unless they are tuned into God through faith: "Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it fully." And "Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the LORD that man gets justice."

I've read before that it's a similar situation with love. There are different types of love--friendship love, sexual love, and self-sacrificing love (agape). Only by faith can we practice agape love.

It seems that the common denominator is sacrifice. What drives us to care about someone else when there is nothing in it for us? Only a renewed heart and mind through the love of God in Christ Jesus.
