I wondered about Proverbs 8:22 where "wisdom" says, "The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old," and I stumbled upon some amazing commentary regarding 8:22-31.
According to the Concordia Self-Study Bible, these verses personifying wisdom have "traditionally been understood as a Messianic prophecy, a description of the preincarnate Christ. They provide some of the language for the NT portrayal of Christ as the divine Word (Jn 1:1-3) and as the wisdom of God (1 Co 1:24,30; Col 2:3). Here, wisdom is an attribute of God involved with him at creation."
According to the People's Bible, this section was the focus of debate by fourth century Christians over whether Jesus was eternal or created. The biblical research led to the Nicene Creed in which we confess our faith in Jesus as "the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made."
